The 3 Rs

Say what?  Someone asked me a few days ago if I knew what the 3Rs meant? Quickly, I began thinking of 3 different, education-related words that began with R. Obviously, relationships would be one, but I couldn't think of any other ones. About 30 seconds went by, and then I heard, "relationships, relationships, relationships." These are the 3Rs, and relationships should be at the forefront of every educators' minds as we move closer to the start of the school year. Teachers have a unique job, where they get to establish brand-new relationships every year. This unique job presents challenges, but a challenge that all teachers must take on in order to have a successful school year. We all know that a strong student-teacher relationship will go a long way to having a successful school year with each child. It's that time of the year again...

Can you believe that it is almost August already? Teacher friends, forgive me, but I have to mention how close we are to beginning of school. I get super excited during this time of the year. My to-do list grows of all the awesome things that I want to try this year. I just can't wait! But, then I remember that this year is going to be a little different. You may or may not know that I completed my administration license this summer. I think I am going to take a little break from school. I'd say, I deserve it! So, how is this year going to be different? Well... I accepted a job as the Student Support Specialist at our school. I can't believe that I am saying this, but I am trading my classroom keys for office keys and a large increase in students. In a nutshell, I will be working to support students at the school in many different ways. I will also work closely with teachers and their PLCs to make sure that we are providing the best experience for students at our school. ...

Terrific Tuesday

Blogger of the Day: Ryan Today we did our civil rights leader in tech time. And in gym we did the YMCA song. Our learning target (I can write sentences with subject verb agreement). Also, Mr. Blank's class stayed in our class because he was sick. In math, we also measured our bean stalks. In science, we also are learning about seeds. They are corn, bush beans, pea, and sunflower seeds.

Blogger of Day: Wilson Welcome to Wilson's amazing blog post today! I will be sharing some things we did today. First, we learned how to describe an informational story. Second, our favorite part of the day was science because we did not do it in a long time. Then, we had art. In art, we made are dream houses. Next, one interesting learning target was I can ask questions while I am reading to help me understand the story better. In daily 5, our tech time choice, we wrote about are weekend. Friday fun day

Blogger of the Day: Brandon friday funday Today we learned about the civil right's movement. Some interesting learning targets are I can organize events from the civil right's movement on a timeline and I can describe people who affected the civil right's movement. Our favorite part of the day was recess. Our favorite specialists activity was floor hockey. We are reading this really good book called Wonder and we told Mr. Farrington to keep reading cause its a good book.

Wednesday Wonder

Blogger of the Day: Isaac Today was awesome.  In gym, we played team handball and dance. We are still reading wonder. an  interesting Learning Target was ''I can describe a series of events that led to the Civil Rights movement''. IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY!!

Friday Awesomeness!

Blogger of the Day: Sid Our day was AWESOME! First, we did an activity to honor Martin Luther King Jr. We did this with our buddies. For Daily Five we did anything we wanted for iPads. An interesting Learning Target was ''I can divide an object into equal parts'' for math. We read some parts of the book ''Wonder''. We had a really great time. Terrific Thursday

Blogger of the Day: Sophie Today we learned about Martin Luther king Jr. and about his timeline. My favorite part of the day was going outside and playing in the snow. One of our interesting learning targets was I can write a summary that includes main idea and key details. My favorite part of specialists was getting extra koo koo kangaro and bowling for a couple minutes. For the last thing, we had assembly today. It was koo koo kangaro. We had a great day!

Wednesday Fun day!

Blogger of the Day: Madison Today was a great day!We had so much fun. Today we did a brain break called rainbow awesome. Later we had a mystery reader Alyssa's mom! She read Circus Ship and the Magnificent Thing. After that we did code.org in technology. Then we had lunch and recess! It was like a winter wonderland outside! Blogger of the day: Nithya  Today we learned about double bubble maps and we had a checkpoint in math. We did a Kickoff we try to make a touchdown by reading books. One of our learning targets was I can compare and contrast story elements by the same author. In art we made a drawing with our eyes closed! We also had Fun Friday. Today was a great day!

AWESOME DAY

Blogger of the Day: Jairus Today was an awesome day. Today, one of our interesting learning targets was I can compare and contrast story of books by the same author. We read the Mitten by Jan Brett. Our class favorite part of the day was music when we got flyers to the Timberwolves game. We did word of the day. That word was pendulum. Fun Day

Blogger of the day:Julia Today was really awesome, We learned about Jan Brett. In math, we learned about elapsed time,we played Tic Tac Tock and we did Xtra math. In technology, we did Code.org. One of the interesting learning targets was I can compare and contrast books by Jan Brett. It was so cold that we had indoor recess!!!!   We had a lot of fun today!!!!!
